Clay Zavada, Arizona Diamondbacks Pitcher

On November 14, 2009, by AMI Staff

Shortly after winning the American Mustache Institute’s “Robert Goulet Memorial Mustached American of the Year” award at ‘Stache Bash 2009, Arizona Diamondbacks relief pitcher Clay Zavada sat down with the AMI to wax poetic on the immense honor and humbling personal experience.

Mr. Zavada was kind enough to withstand, and even respond to, a barrage of extraordinarily hard-hitting and stupid questions. Hard-hitting and stupid questions that our readers have come to expect, nay, demand from the Monthly Mustache Interview, including the answer to the number one question on their minds: Yes, Mr. Zavada did in fact cry when he found out he won the award (his words, not ours).

So sit back, relax, put your feet up on your favorite ottoman or neaby small child, and enjoy as Zavada raps with our own Dr. Perlut on the importance of winning the award, and its effect on his place in mustached American lore.
