Fifteen finalists will win $500 and a Lithium Ion + Stainless Steel Trimmer, and one of them will win an additional $1,000 and the title of Wahl Man of the Year.

A clear example of this comes from New England in Bo Muller-Moore, the creator of EAT MORE KALE t-shirts, from Central Vermont, who is locked in a legal battle with Chick-fil-A, a fight which could be called the classic battle of Bo v. the Bovine.

Bo has been producing his artisanal quality, environmentally friendly product in Montpelier, which is more than 100 miles from the nearest Chick-fil-A franchise. Even so, the Georgia-based fast-food chain seems to fear that his product, which is only T-Shirts, might detract from their more than $4 billion sales of mediocre chicken sandwiches.

That, or they think that a properly spelled EAT MORE KALE is too easily confused with the advertising slogan Chick-fil-A launched in 1995: “Eat mor chikin.”

Bo disputes the claim that EAT MORE KALE “is likely to cause confusion of the public and dilutes the distinctiveness of Chick-fil-A’s intellectual property.”  Thus he is fighting for what he believes is the right to continue to print his shirts.

• His website, EatMoreKale.com, has his hand-screened shirts for sale and a link to donate to his legal defense fund. It also has a lint to a Kale Cookbook.
• Last December, Vermont Governor Shumlin launched this fund, Team Kale, for the battle against the corporate giant with a YouTube video.

Bo’s Mustached American heritage is continuing to another generation. He reports that his two year old “trims his beard” every morning. Bo Muller-Moore is an example of what is great about American enterprise, Mustached Americans, and New Englanders.

That’s why the Mustached American community reached a pinnacle moment when it was announced that the Segway-riding, chalkboard-loving, leisure suit-wearing brainiac Professor Wattson will become the first mustached clay-animated American to be featured at a Las Vegas convention.

Professor Wattson (who has no first name), an expert in power management, will make a much-anticipated appearance at Booth 2151 of the Eaton Power Quality division at the 2012 Interop conference.

Although Las Vegas draws more conventions than mustaches draw women — as well as more mustached men than a Tom Selleck look-alike contest — city officials have long-barred the two from mixing.

But on May 8, hundreds of years of prejudice will finally come to an end when Professor Wattson’s expert power management advice proudly travels through the bristles of his neatly groomed lip sweater, and into the ears of the world’s technology experts.

“The American Mustache Institute was shocked but sadly not surprised to learn of the historical discrimination against mustached Americans at Las Vegas conventions,” said AMI chief executive Dr. Abraham Jonas Froman.  “Professor Wattson is opening the doors of Sin City conventions for hairy upper lips everywhere. There is no doubt future generations will look to history books to learn about Wattson’s furry, triumphant mark on an otherwise dark, clean-shaven history.”

In an effort to proudly promote the historical event (in addition to Eaton’s famously reliable IT and data center products) Professor Wattson will virtually appear with mustached fans for photo ops.

“I believe in the mission of the American Mustache Institute,” said Professor Wattson. “Through this photo opportunity, I will offer my appreciation to their mission of raising awareness for equal rights for those who choose to grow, care and culture the lower nose forest.”

Thomas, an AMI member in good standing, has owned and operated an upper lip garment since graduating high school in 1982. He has since served professionally in emergency medical services, juvenile probation services, representation of Children’s Protective Services, as a Texas peace officer, and currently as a Texas prosecutor.

“I am humbled by the support of my fellow people of Mustached American heritage,” said Thomas. “I look forward to proudly posting this honor on my Facebook page and website, and only wish to serve my fellow citizens with great passion and Mustached American good looks.”

As Thomas readied to announce his entry into the Brazos County District Attorney race, he further demonstrated his Mustached American credentials by ignoring suggestions of two campaign volunteers who encouraged him to shave his lower nose foliage.

“Going back to his days walking a beat, Ray’s ever-present labia sebucula (Latin for “lip sweater”) has repeatedly delivered a message that he is a man of bravery and not to be toyed with,” added Dr. Gorithm.  “He refuses to cave into the media-fed trend for public officials to remove their facial hair, and proudly chooses to show that his mustache is part of his life — a true sign of a strong moral leader.”

The Brazos County District Attorney primary election will be held May 29, with early voting beginning May 14.
